What is the PADI Scuba Diver Course?

The PADI Scuba Diver Course is an amazing opportunity for those eager to explore the underwater world but might find themselves a bit short on time. This course is about 60% of the full PADI Open Water Diver course, making it a time-efficient option to kick-start your scuba adventures.

Despite being a subset of the Open Water course, the PADI Scuba Diver certification is a valid and globally recognized credential. Think of it as an intermediate step, allowing you to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional to a depth of 12 metres.

This means you can safely enjoy supervised dives while gaining confidence. Additionally, your certification allows you to obtain airfills, rent scuba equipment, and partake in supervised dive activities.

Notes

This is an example of how the course is typically structured. Course schedules may vary depending on the instructor, weather, and other factors.

Course Itinerary Example

Our PADI Scuba Diver Course offers a detailed yet flexible itinerary to fit your busy schedule. The course spans two action-packed days, blending independent study with hands-on training under the guidance of our expert PADI-certified instructors.

On the first day, you’ll dive into the theoretical aspects of scuba diving by completing the first three chapters of the PADI Open Water manual. Independent study, complemented by informational videos, will help you grasp key concepts.

Small quizzes and Knowledge Reviews will consolidate your learning, and your instructor will review these with you, answering any questions you might have. To ensure a solid understanding, you’ll take a final quiz.

Additionally, you’ll participate in three pool sessions where you’ll learn and practise essential skills under the direct supervision of a PADI-certified instructor. The session will include a 10-minute float and a 200-metre swim in our heated pool, ensuring a comfortable experience even during winter.

The second day focuses on applying your newly acquired skills in real-world conditions with two Open Water Dives under direct supervision. You’ll revisit the skills learned in the pool, but this time, you’ll be swimming over the vibrant reefs of Sodwana Bay.

Enjoy the breathtaking underwater scenery, including tropical fish and corals, as you practise and refine your techniques. Our course dates are highly flexible, allowing you to embark on your PADI scuba diver course at your convenience.
