We are situated inside the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Sodwana Bay. From Gauteng, take the N17 or N11 to Ermelo, then take the N2 to Pongola.  From Pongola, go to the town of Hluhluwe. Do not follow your GPS if it tells you to turn off the N2 earlier. The R22 from Hluhluwe is the ONLY tarred route to Sodwana Bay. The other roads are in severe disrepair and Jozini town is heavily congested. If travelling from Durban on the N2, head north until the town of Hluhluwe. 

Once you reach Hluhluwe, make sure you have enough fuel to travel another 100kms. You pass through the town, and at the end of the main round, take the first exit from the roundabout and drive to the T-junction. Follow the sign to Sodwana Bay, staying on the R22. 

Once you reach the town of Mbazwana, take the turn-off to Sodwana Bay. Follow this road for another 13kms where it will enter the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.

From the main gate, where you pay the gate entry to receive your permit (NB. Do not lose this permit), you will drive straight ahead and over a small bridge. At the junction, turn right and head up the hill to the KZN Wildlife Reception Area. 

Go to the Boom Gate and fill in the form to go to Coral Divers (Please be sure to bring this form with you when checking in). Go around the roundabout, taking the very last exit. Follow the road (sand but accessible to 2×4 vehicles) all the way through to the Coral Divers reception. We look forward to seeing you! 

The best way to reach us is by car. If you do not have your own car, you can rent a car or use a private transfer. We do not have our own shuttle service to Sodwana Bay. There are two local operators that we know of which you can contact directly to request a quotation.

iSimangaliso Wetland Park Gate Entry:

Fees are payable at the 1st gate upon arrival for entry into the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. The
once-off fees are currently R30 per adult or R20 per child plus a R10 community levy per person. Vehicle charges are R35 for vehicles holding 1-5 persons (e.g. 4 door car) – charges increase for larger capacity vehicles. Guests staying overnight will also be charged R10 per person per night at this point.

KZN Wildlife:

The Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife charges for staying in the campsite overnight, are R100 pp in Low Season and R130 pp in High Season, plus a Community Levy. These fees are reflected on your booking to make it more convenient for you to pay them, rather than having to go into their office on arrival to pay.

Your Golden Rhino Card or Wild Card will not cover the daily park fees, or the community levies. The Golden Rhino Card will only cover the once-off entry fee (payable directly at the iSimangaliso Wetland Park entrance gate). the Wild Card is for San Parks and not Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife unfortunately.

We have a communal kitchen where you can use your own individual fridge compartment. All cooking utensils, induction stoves and a microwave oven is provided. We also have a communal Boma area and our staff will light the fire for our guests to braai each evening on request.

We offer our guests 500mb complimentary WiFi vouchers. If you require more, vouchers for 1 Gig, 500MB and 100MB are for sale at reception.  The WiFi can only be used in the main dining area, since that is where the router is located. The internet connection relies on good cellular signal strength to work effectively, as there are no ADSL lines within the park. 

We are situated 2km from the beach and have a free Beach Shuttle that goes down onto the beach 45min before each dive and comes up after each dive. If you are driving to the beach in your own vehicle you can park in the designated parking area which is 100 meters from the beach.

The Coral pantry at our bar stocks items such as long-life milk, toiletries and snacks. Silversands Spar Supermarket is1km from Coral Divers, which has all your basic items.

 There is also a larger Spar in Mbazwana 15km away.

We use 12.2l steel cylinders with din and yoke fittings. They are filled to around 230 bar. We do also have
10l cylinders available.

We have Dive Planning at our resort at 6:30pm every evening where you can book your dive times and dive sites for the following day. If you are unable to make it to Dive Planning, please contact our Dive planner on 076 718 8260 before 6.30pm (the day before you wish to dive), to provisionally book your dives. Dive times need to be confirmed by 7pm each evening.

You can provisionally book your dives the day before you wish to dive (see above ‘How can I book
dives’) and pay for your dives at our Beach Shop or at the Coral Divers reception. You will need to be at our beach gazebo 45 minutes before each dive, or at the Coral Divers resort 60 minutes before each dive if you wish to catch the Beach Shuttle from the resort.
